I certainly didn't intend to define it as *any* physical response to physical stimuli. Still, dogs and primates have also been reported to 'laugh'.

Animals aside, I'll stand by my argument that you don't need a sense of humour to laugh. In humans, the response of laughter is easy to recognize (even if hard to define) and I would venture that that response to tickling doesn't require a sense of humour. Same with chemical induced laughter, as I mentioned.Kamelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15548259062576527751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14815894.post-47149455943651843332007-07-25T11:23:00.000-04:002007-07-25T11:23:00.000-04:00Well if you consider that to be the definition of ...Well if you consider that to be the definition of laughter, then a cat purring is actually laughing...Anonymous Cowardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13315733940344340689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14815894.post-34849221674768620582007-07-24T09:37:00.000-04:002007-07-24T09:37:00.000-04:00Is that true? You can chemically induce laughter. Is that not "real" laughter either?Kamelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15548259062576527751noreply@blogger.com
