As it is seen, ejaculation can be used as a potential treatment of nasal congestion because its emission phase provides a sympathetic stimulation and subsequent vasoconstriction and nasal decongestion. Also, the refractory period serves as a sympathetic reservoir and maintains the decongestive state for a considerable while. [...] According to the current idea, sexual intercourse or masturbation is proposed in the cases of nasal congestion in mature men. It can be done time-to-time to alleviate the congestion and the patient can adjust the number of intercourses or masturbations depending on the severity of the symptoms.Keep it in mind next time someone with a head cold asks you for a tissue.

How to beat off a cold
Summer is over, which means that cold and flu season is approaching with its stuffy sinuses and nasal congestion. But before you grab your Sudafed, or other pharmaceutical intervention, the journal Medical Hypotheses - always a gold-mine for unconventional ideas - has an article about an all-natural, drug-free way to relieve your symptoms: ejaculation.

Classic Bayblab material. Where was the AC on this on??
Clearly they are on to something... I hope they conduct (spanking) monkey trials.
That last sentence in the exerpt qualifies for the Ultimate Win in all the internettes.
what do you think? Medicine IgNobel?
That thought crossed my mind. Right now it's just a hypothesis - I think we'd need some data first (and no, my 30 cold-free years don't count).
Aparently congestion can be measured by leaning forward for 10-15 min and measuring the volume of secretion that drips out...
Something that can easily be done. Perhaps we should add it to the pile of bayblab experiment along with bowling drunk, evaporating ethanol and fermenting a pumpkin...
