Cell Biology Confirms that Lefties are Superior

Well I've already mentioned the piles of evidence suggesting that left-handed people are more highly evolved and just plain better than right-handers. Now, new evidence has confirmed this fact at the cellular level. Cell biologist Palazzo has a great post on a PNAS paper showing that cells are left-handed. Obviously this is the best way to be.

That's basically the direction of evolution. Simple single cells are lefties whereas properly functioning multicellular organisms have evolved the much more efficient and adaptive right-handedness.

Ahhh...not sure I follow your reasoning. We're not talking just left-handed single cell organisms here. WEe're talking left-handed eukaryotic cells, meaning the building blocks of higher organisms are left handed, ergo multi-cellular organisms would also tend towards left-handedness.

Obviously, the underlying mathematics of evolution is left-handed, driving life toward left handedness at all levels.

Of course.....Lefties rule!!!!!

One of these days I'm going to clone the gene for left-handedness and patent it. Then I will make available (for a small fee) a genetic test and gene therapies for the parents of unborn right-handed children so that no human being will ever again be forced to endure a tormented life of right-handedness.

Basically the first comment refers to the fact that it takes many many lefties to be able to make a functional righty. However every once in a while all those lefties still mess up and you end up with a multicellular lefty.
If being left is so great why do you need to artificially select for it? Perhaps you are so lefthanded that you don't believe in evolution? The righties aren't concerned, leftism will gradually be weeded out of the human population as they cut themselves with righthanded sissors and smudge important letters they are trying to write.

but of course, it is us, the ambidextrous who are the pinnacle of evolution. and don't any of you uni's forget it!

Thanks for bringing up the ambidextrous. Obviously and evolutionary intermediate, proving that selection for left-handedness is happening as we speak.

How is it that we're forgetting about DNA? You know, that RIGHT-HANDED helix, with all your genetic instructions? Or the alpha-helix in protein structure. Also right-handed. Behind every left-hander, there's a rightie.

And we don't even need evolution to see right-handed superiority - intelligently designed screws are also right-handed.

Excellent point. But there is an explanation for these apparent molecular discrepancies. Stay tuned for a future post I have been working on, re: "Molecular Basis for the Superiority of Left-Handedness".
